DDNS Now supports Bluesky domain handles.
The domain itself created with DDNS Now, "@username.f5.si", can be used as a handle.

There are no maintenance costs like with a custom domain, and handles already used on Bluesky can be used if there are vacancies on DDNS Now.

Open Bluesky → Settings → Change handle → I have my own domain.


Enter the domain name you obtained from DDNS Now and check the contents of "Add the following DNS records to your domain."


Open the DDNS Now control panel and click the "Subdomains" button.
Set the record type to "TXT" and the subdomain name to "_atproto", then paste the values instructed by Bluesky.
Press the "Update settings" button.


Wait about a minute, then press the "Check DNS Records" button in Bluesky to complete the process.

You can now set NS records for domains acquired through DDNS Now.
NS records should be set up with all other records/subdomains/wildcards set to off.

Since it supports Public Suffix Lists, by setting NS records,
You can use CDN services such as Cloudflare in the same way as you would use your own domain.


You can create email-related records via NS records, which cannot be created by DDNS Now alone.
To prevent spam, when you set up an NS record, you must authenticate using a Japanese mobile phone number (with voice line).
There are no call charges for authentication.

The DDNS Now domain "f5.si" has been added to the Public Suffix List.
The advantage is that the acquired subdomain is treated the same as a regular original domain.
It differs from other DDNS domains not listed mainly in the following points.

・You can monetize with Google AdSense etc. ・The limit on the number of ACME authentications such as Let's Encrypt will be relaxed ・You can register domains with Cloudflare etc. (However, DDNS Now does not support NS records, so the available functions are limited. )
・The browser guarantees domain independence and cookies can be used safely.

You can now create subdomains for your domain.
If you have "test.f5.si", you can use this feature to create sub-subdomains like "web.test.f5.si",
You can create sub-sub-subdomains such as "a.web.test.f5.si".



In addition to the settings screen, you can also use the HTTP API.

The record types available for subdomains are A/AAAA/TXT/CNAME.
You can create up to 10 subdomains per account.

Compatible with the ACME DNS-01 challenge, which allows domain authentication on DNS when issuing certificates such as Let's Encrypt.
It can be used in the following way.

- Manually configure from the subdomain on the settings screen

・Set from &acme= parameter with HTTP API

- Required if you want to automatically obtain a wildcard certificate from certbot using a script that uses API.
